Forest Lawn Crucifixion/Resurrection Grand Re-Opening

A view of the massive hall at Forest Lawn that houses the building-sized Crucifixion/Resurrection paintings

Los Angeles is a place of seemingly endless incredible destinations. I hope to explore that concept more in a project in 2024, but am happy to have a solid reminder of our city’s deep cultural fabric while viewing the panoramic 195′ x 45′ painting “Crucifixion” by Polish artist Jan Styka (painted in the 1890s).
????
Enjoyed this view at @forestlawnmemorial as part of the grand re-opening of their Crucifixion/Resurrection painting presentation while checking out the great exhibit “Grand Views: The Immersive World of Panoramas” – a collaboration on panoramic art, it’s history, and presentation from @forestlawnmuseum and @velaslavasay
????️
While this exhibit closes tomorrow (Sept 10th), the Velaslavsay Panorama is open year-round and is a NOT-TO-BE-MISSED amazing destination and art experience to check out.
